* april brought an abrupt halt to any sense of balance regained incrementally over the months of talking myself through the patience that healing requires. back strong, digging through materials in the loft should be less hard. and then not. my left arm will do everything for a while now. slow and steady my nine-month normal that grates against my essence, like the hardware that now pokes me through my skin when i forget and lean my right elbow on the drafting table. committee work. curating at the college. soaking in urban treasures on long hikes through humanity -walking & writing a lot till pressure can be applied to brake on the bianchi again some sweet day; till range of motion returns with my old confidence to lift a pot of hot wax, to raise a hammer. fucking artfully building character at the moment. and writing.

* how lucky that quiver, quake, cinder & molt of lindsey pichaske's enchanted series remain with the foster/white gallery through august. material and co ntrasting textures cause question & comfort in equal measure.
